Although the following items are available to members and non-members alike, we would urge you, please, to join our Association - not only for the benefits that you will gain from belonging but also because without your support, there will be no Association and therefore no one helping fellow sufferers, no one collecting information on the social effects of this cruel condition, no statistical information on which patients are taking which medications, the side-effects of the various drugs prescribed, the surgical procedures and their outcomes, no one to raise awareness amongst the medical/dental profession, and no one to continue to support others afflicted by trigeminal neuralgia in the future ... some of whom are children.
If not for yourself, then please consider what you can do for others just by joining and continuing your membership subscriptions in future years. This is a rare condition and we all have to do what we can, otherwise there will be no progress towards finding the causes of its onset, nor any possible future cure.
Thank you.
Books
Striking Back - The Trigeminal Neuralgia and Face Pain Handbook - a layman's guide to understanding and treating what is often called the world's worst pain
by George Weigel and Kenneth F. Casey, MD
Insights - Facts and Stories Behind Trigeminal Neurallgia
by Professor Joanna M. Zakrzewska, MD
We think it advisable to read Striking Back before reading Insights because reference to Striking Back is made within Insights and we believe it’s more helpful to read them in that order.
You can read reviews of the books at the links below (see also the reviews on the Barnes & Noble website). These books are £17.50 each, including postage & packing, or are obtainable at a discounted price of £32.00, incl. p&p, for the two.

Hypnosis CD by Dr Raj L. Sharma, MD, Specialist in Hypnosis/Medical Hypnosis, Royal London Homeopathic Hospital, UCLH NHS Trust
Dr Raj Sharma has, with the help of TN members, conducted research into treating TN with hypnosis and relaxation. The results showed that patients reported a significant decrease in pain intensity and pain unpleasantness, as well as a decrease in anxiety and depression levels. Dr Sharma has very kindly agreed to make available to our members copies of his hypnosis CDs that were used in this study, the proceeds of which he is generously donating to the charity. These come as a set of three sessions per CD and are available at a cost of £21.00. (We are extremely grateful to Dr Sharma for this and for coming along to many of our regional meetings to talk to our members.)
For further information on hypnosis and to find a healthcare professional who is qualified to use hypnosis, please contact the British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis (BSCAH).
Cards
Highly acclaimed artist Rosa Sepple, Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watecolours and herself a TN sufferer, has very kindly given us permission to reproduce three of her unique paintings for greetings cards and these are now available to buy from the TNA UK. The cards can be used for any occasion - party invites, thank you notes, birthdays or Christmas. Click on the links below to see images of the individual cards. They come in packs of three, with envelopes, and cost £3.00 per pack, plus postage. The cards are 6" x 4", blank inside for your own message and we think they're very special. Enchant your friends and know that you're also supporting the work of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association. Our grateful thanks go to Rosa for making this possible. We want to sell as many as we can, so we look forward to receiving your order!
