Living with and managing trigeminal neuralgia
As a membership, you wanted TNA UK to become more involved in research. As part of our remit, we are keen to encourage PhD students who want to undertake research for their dissertation. Your help is needed to enable us to fulfill your wishes.
So, please take a minute to click on the link below and see if you can assist in this project. Thank you.
Cognitive and motor impairments experienced by TN patients
This research – also known as the Leeds Project – has already resulted in 35 patients taking part and we are very grateful to them for doing so, In order to achieve an acceptable cross-section of patients, we are still hoping that more of you are able to participate. The two centres where this is happening are at UCLH in London and the TNA UK’s office in Oxted, Surrey.
For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Clare on 01883 371595.
Core outcomes in trigeminal neuralgia
Student, Carolina Nova works at the Eastman Dental Hospital and for her PhD project will be researching into producing a standard set of measures regarding the outcome of treatments used for TN. Apart from pain relief, few other outcome measures have been used to capture the impact of TN and this has significantly limited our understanding of the mechanisms and management of this condition.
To help Carolina begin the first stage of the project which is a systematic review, TNA UK has agreed to fund her first year’s work.
