Accessibility at TNA UK
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use assistive technology, navigate by keyboard, enlarge text or need changes to colour and contrast.
We are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at AA level across the site. Accessibility is an ongoing process, particularly as pages, forms and third-party services change.
Accessibility tools
An Accessibility Tools button is available on the right-hand side of the website. It includes options to increase or decrease text size, change contrast, use a light background, underline links, switch to a more readable font and reset the settings.
These tools are an additional aid. They do not replace our responsibility to make the website itself accessible.
Accessing TNA UK services
Accessibility also applies to our services, not only to this website. Trigeminal neuralgia and facial pain can themselves create barriers: speaking may trigger pain, symptoms may fluctuate, travel can be difficult and some people need written or remote ways to take part.
- If speaking on the telephone is difficult, you can use our e-helpline at [email protected].
- If travel is difficult, ask us about remote or online ways to access support, groups, webinars or information where these are available.
- If you are attending a TNA UK event or activity, tell us about access requirements as early as possible. We will consider reasonable adjustments and explain what can be provided.
- If standard website information is difficult to use, contact us to discuss an alternative format or another way of receiving the information.
We will not assume that everyone with TN has the same access needs. We will listen to the individual and try to remove avoidable barriers wherever reasonably possible.
Known areas for improvement
Automated accessibility testing has identified some areas that still need attention, including colour contrast on some elements, some links without sufficiently clear accessible names, page landmark structure, heading order on the homepage and an embedded donation frame that needs a descriptive title. We are working through these issues.
