TNA UK AGM and Training Day: A Day of Community and Progress

Our recent TNA UK AGM and Training Day in Norwich brought together members, volunteers, and medical experts to share knowledge, strengthen connections, and plan for the future. The day reflected our ongoing commitment to raising awareness and reducing isolation for those living with TN and facial pain.

A Supportive Environment

From the moment attendees arrived, there was a strong sense of community and mutual support. Volunteers ensured that everyone felt welcome, with one member sharing:

“I was initially hesitant about attending alone, but I left feeling supported, having met people who truly understand.”

The day was structured to be both informative and practical, with sessions focused on medical updates, peer support, and self-management strategies.

Training with Andrea Lucchetti

One of the most valued sessions was led by Andrea Lucchetti from Wymondham Chiropractic and Acupuncture Clinic, who provided clear, evidence-based guidance on chiropractic care, acupuncture, and pressure points.

Attendees found the session useful:

“It gave me practical ideas to discuss with my healthcare team and helped me feel more in control of my condition.”

Recognising the Challenges

We know that many of our members face significant challenges:

  • Financial Pressures – The rising cost of living is affecting many members. We have expanded our membership assistance scheme to offer further support.
  • Winter and Isolation – The colder months can be difficult. Our helpline, e-helpline, Regional Support Groups (RSGs), and Friendship Line are available for those in need.
  • Volunteer Support – Our volunteers do vital work, and we continue to ensure they have the resources needed to carry out their roles.

Remembering Those We Have Lost

This year, we have also faced great sadness as we remember members who felt they could no longer continue their struggle. Their absence is deeply felt, and their loss strengthens our determination to do more—to improve awareness, treatment options, and support services for those living with Trigeminal Neuralgia.

One family, in the midst of their grief, made the generous decision to donate to TNA UK so that their loved one’s experience could help others. Their support is a powerful reminder of why we must keep advocating, keep supporting, and keep pushing forward.

If you are struggling, please reach out. You are not alone.

Support Is Always Available

If you or someone you know is finding things difficult, help is available:

  1. TNA UK Helpline & E-Helpline – Available for members, friends, carers, and family seeking support. 0800 9991899 [email protected]

  4. Mind (0300 123 3393) – Offering guidance and support for mental health concerns.

If you are struggling, please don’t suffer in silence. Reach out—someone will listen.

Looking Ahead: Our Goals for the Year

We remain committed to:

  • Expanding our volunteer network to meet demand.
  • Strengthening advocacy efforts to ensure TN receives proper recognition in healthcare policy.
  • Growing our Friendship Line and RSG network to reduce isolation.
  • Collaborating on research initiatives to improve treatment outcomes.

These priorities ensure that we continue making a real and lasting difference.

Your Support Helps Us Continue Our Work

TNA UK exists to support, inform, and advocate for those living with Trigeminal Neuralgia and facial pain. We are a small charity with a big mission, and every donation helps us to keep running our helpline, support groups, webinars, and awareness campaigns.

If you would like to support our work, you can donate:

  • Online at www.tna.org.uk
  • By phone on 0800 999 1899
  • By texting TNA to 704070 to donate £5

Your generosity enables us to continue providing essential support to those who need it most.

Stronger Together

The AGM and Training Day reinforced that TNA UK is more than just a charity—it is a community of people who truly understand and support each other. Every conversation, every shared experience, and every act of support strengthens what we do.

To all our members, volunteers, and supporters—thank you. Your dedication ensures that no one facing TN has to go through it alone.

With best wishes,
